Come paint amongst the wild flower gardens at the Sparkle Barn and capture the beautiful natural landscape that surrounds it. This workshop will provide instruction on location in beautiful Wallingford, Vermont, painting from life plein air ( ‘in fresh air’).
This workshop is intended for those interested in working with heightened color and in a more impressionistic, expressive or abstract manner per individual styles using oils, acrylics, or pastels. Open to all levels, But some drawing experience is helpful. Each day begins with a short demo illustrating good composition and effective color usage in the introduction of the classical painting process and the steps that move a work beyond, for those interested in impressionism and or abstraction. Individualized instruction will be given with the expectation that each student will produce a minimum of one quick study and one completed piece per day. One of the demos will include the use of perspective in incorporating a building in the landscape. Students will be required to provide their own lunch and supplies. A light snack will be provided and some emergency back-up art supplies will be available.
Supply list will be sent upon registration.
